David W. Packard, son of H-P's co-founder, is
backing excavation of the Villa of the Papyri at Herculaneum, a
site which may have thousands of ancient scrolls, perhaps including
'lost works by Aristotle, Livy and Sappho' (Millionaire
to fund dig for lost Roman library in The Times of
London).
