the place on daylily to post questions, discuss, or comment on irc

  • Want to use the forum?  Then click here to go to the forum and then browse, post a topic, or make a reply

some step-by-step instructions

  • Trying with mIrc:

    1.  Click on the ' X ' button in the shareware nag screen with the author's image to close that window

    2.  You ought to now have the mIrc Options window displaying. Click on ' Add ' to add daylily: 'description', enter daylily; 'IRC Server', enter devmike.com; leave the 'group' field blank; leave the 'password' field blank.

    3.  Click on 'OK' or 'Connect to IRC Server'. A window should pop up asking you which group to join.  Enter '#ctngreg' (without the ' ' marks, but with the # sign).

    When you're finished, type '/exit' or '/quit'.

  • Trying with pirch98:

Close the little 'hint / tip' window.

    1.  Click on the 'login' icon.  Erase the contents of the 'IRC Network' field, and type in 'daylily' (no ' ' signs).  In the 'Server' field, type 'devmike.com:6667' (no ' ' signs).  Leave the password blank.

    2.  In the 'Name' field, enter your name (as in 'Mike Fieschko'), 'username' is your email address.  Nick1 is your first selection of how you want your name displayed when connected, Nick2 is the alternate in case someone happens to be using Nick1.  Examples are mikef and mfieschko.

    3.  Click on 'connect' and after a delay (be patient), you ought to connect.

Once you connect, join ctngreg (most irc programs will accomplish this by your typing '/join #ctngreg' (without the ' ', but with the / and with the #).

    When you're finished, type '/exit' or '/quit'.
